SFS lands major contract from leading manufacturer of braking systems
News – October 15, 2021
SFS has landed a major contract for a customer from the automotive industry and achieved another milestone: High-precision components for a new generation of electric brake systems will be produced at the Heerbrugg (Switzerland) site from 2024-2033; these components will generate sales of more than CHF 100 million. This achievement demonstrates SFS's strong competitive position as a development partner and supplier.
For years, SFS has been successfully positioning itself as a development partner and sup-plier for customers from the automotive industry. Innovations are being driven by trends toward greater comfort, better safety and increased efficiency as well as the overarching trend toward autonomous driving. That goes hand in hand with an electrification of those vehicles, as well as their braking systems, which represents a promising area of growth that benefits SFS.
Sales volume of more than CHF 100 million
Based on the close, successful collaboration with the customer, SFS has proven itself in its efforts to develop the next generation of a key assembly for electric braking systems. Con-tract fulfillment will extend from 2024-2033 and generate sales of more than CHF 100 mil-lion. Featuring both a reduction in complexity and greater cost-effectiveness, the new, in-novative assembly will help the customer achieve greater market penetration. This new project demonstrates the successful implementation of the Group’s strategy and lays the basis for future growth.
By working together with the customer on the development of this next generation of elec-tric braking systems, SFS has intensified their partnership while simultaneously setting a new milestone for sustainable growth. Production work will take place in the new Hall 6 at the Heerbrugg site, which is expected to be commissioned in the summer of 2022.
