Connected solutions for greater efficiency

Many companies in the metalworking industry are facing the same challenges: technological change, dynamic competition and a shortage of skilled labor. Those challenges are forcing us to increasingly shift our focus to processes that are efficient, digitalized and automated. Our goal is to help our customers become better and more efficient and, in doing so, to promote their long-term competitiveness. To that end, Hoffmann offers connected solutions for all aspects of production – employing manufacturing processes that are both digitalized and automated with the goal of maximizing efficiency and boosting output to a new level.

Added value

  • Connected, overarching manufacturing solutions enable maximum efficiency
  • Broad, comprehensive product range makes us the perfect supply partner
  • Still keeping pace with the times thanks to investments in innovative solutions

Evidence has been mounting for some time now that manufacturers in the metalworking industry are on the verge of a structural transformation. Driving forces behind this transformation include demographic change, technological change and dynamic competition – as well as the associated shortage of skilled labor. Against this backdrop, a growing number of companies are finding themselves forced to design their production more efficiently, digitalize their systems and automate their procurement and manufacturing processes.

Booster for manufacturing
At SFS and Hoffmann, a company of the SFS Group, everything we do revolves around our customers and the solutions we offer them. For example, we want to identify unexploited opportunities and reduce complexity in both manufacturing and procurement. The list of day-to-day challenges is lengthy: Minimize long search and setup times, optimize machine capacity utilization, ensure end-to-end documentation with very little time loss, increase output through longer machine running times, minimize manual processes and reduce the susceptibility to error at the same time. Hoffmann creates added value for customers with its solutions in areas such as automation, goods issuing systems, digital tool management, Bluetooth tools and vibratory finishing machines.

“The market is changing and presenting companies with new challenges,” says Borries Schüler, Head of Production Management and Engineering at Hoffmann. “To help our customers tackle the challenges facing them, we already invested in the development of digital products and automated loading systems several years ago and offer a central point of contact for any matters related to the future of machining.”

Connected Manufacturing as solution for greater efficiency

Solutions to help customers become more competitive
The products and services offered by Hoffmann include Connected Manufacturing, Connected Metrology plus other automation solutions and the GARANT brand of goods issuing systems. Our existing customers are impressed, as evidenced by these numbers: Hoffmann’s connected tools use digital data transmission to cut documentation times for measurements and torques by 50% while also preventing 100% of transcription errors and the GARANT ZeroClamp clamping system achieves time savings of up to 90% thanks to the system’s shorter setup, changeover and non-productive times.

Presentation of Hoffmanns digital solutions at the World of Tools 2024

Wide range of products at the in-house exhibition
Hoffmann organized an in-house exhibition entitled the “World of Tools” in Nuremberg (Germany) in 2024. There, we provided a comprehensive overview of the latest innovations and solutions, offered seminars and a tour – all focused on digitalization and automation. The goal of the exhibition was to provide a source of inspiration and guidance to the approximately 6,000 guests in attendance in order to strengthen their competitiveness by helping them cut costs, boost productivity and speed up procurement processes.

We presented not only innovations but also our broad range of products and services: Hoffmann’s own strong brands GARANT and HOLEX as well as products and services from both SFS and GESIPA® – all companies of the SFS Group. Not only did the World of Tools 2024 feature technical exhibitions and one-on-one specialist consultations, but it also promoted communication between specialists and offered valuable insights into forward-looking technologies and methods.

At the exhibition, Hoffmann presented a new, automatic loading system for routers – the GARANT Turntable – and made a promise in its capacity as a connected solutions specialist: “Simple. Relaxed. Manufacturing.” With enormous added value for our customers – to achieve greater efficiency, higher profits and long-term competitiveness.
