Using excercise as a catalyst for good

Sports and social engagement are a match made in heaven. The SFS Group uses athletic activities as a platform for employees’ social engagement while strengthening their cohesion as a team.

Added value

  • Promoting the health and wellbeing of SFS’s employees
  • Team building and networking opportunity
  • Increasing motivation and a sense of identification with the company
  • Strengthening the Group’s corporate culture and employer brand

Sports events to benefit the Hoffmann Group Foundation
Many of SFS’s athletic activities – like company fun runs and the ORANGE Sports Challenge – raise funds that go directly to the projects of the Hoffmann Group Foundation. Participation is everything: The respective location donates a fixed amount to the Foundation for each kilometer run or for each minute of employees’ athletic activity with the goal of helping traumatized and disadvantaged children and young people on their way to an independent life.

Toni Heckenberg, Vice President Munich, Hoffmann GmbH Qualitätswerkzeuge
“I have been participating in our company fun runs for many years now. The fact that a donation is made to children’s facilities for every kilometer run is an added incentive. This combination of an athletic goal and social engagement is also a source of pride for me.”

Every kilometer counts
Nearly all German and many US locations host a variety of company fun runs and races for charitable causes every year. In addition to donations made to the children’s facilities supported by the Hoffmann Group Foundation, SFS is also committed to the fight against cancer and supports cancer research through its athletic activities.

Poonam Navale Marketing Manager, Hoffmann India
“The OSC was a fantastic experience! Making an active contribution to a good cause together with colleagues from all over the world was a lot of fun. I am already excited about the next one!”

ORANGE Sports Challenge: 600,000 minutes of athletic activity to benefit a good cause
Another program is called the ORANGE Sports Challenge (OSC). During the OSC, employees are challenged to accumulate as many minutes of athletic activity as possible over a specific period of time. Whether they run, bike or swim – every type of sport and every effort counts: The more minutes they collect together, the larger the donation to the Foundation. In 2024, the final tally was more than 600,000 minutes of athletic activity!

Markus Bitzi Product Manager, SFS Group Schweiz AG
“The OSC’s charitable cause kept me motivated to make exercise part of my day-to-day life. I would also like to participate again in 2025.”
